Mission Alignment The Northern Virginia Badminton Club (NVBC) is dedicated to elevating badminton to a mainstream sport in the United States. Our primary focus is the development of athletes for national and international competition. To support this mission, NVBC serves as a premier competitive hub, hosting an average of ten (10) tournaments per calendar year.
Court Availability- Tournament Usage: During scheduled tournament dates, all courts are reserved exclusively for event participants. General court access for members and the public will be suspended for the duration of these events.
- Scheduling: NVBC will make every effort to post tournament dates in advance via our official website to allow players to plan accordingly.
- No Refunds or Extensions: Membership dues are structured to support the club’s year-round mission and facilities. Consequently, memberships will not be extended, prorated, or refunded due to facility closures for tournaments or “non-play days.”
- Drop-In Recommendation: Players who prefer maximum flexibility or who wish to avoid paying for days when the facility is hosting events are encouraged to utilize Drop-In passes rather than committing to a long-term membership.
- Court & facility rules
Play with clean and non-marking shoes only. To avoid any injury, we highly recommend badminton shoes. When other players are waiting, limit your play to one game using 21 rally point scoring OR 15 minutes for non-game playing. Please use queuing system on peak nights/weekends. If you need a dedicated court for your group, please reserve court in advance. Please remember that utilizing NVBC facility is a privilege. As such, management reserves the right to suspend or cancel memberships, temporarily or permanently, at their discretion. - Children on courts
We welcome and strongly encourage parents to bring their children to introduce them to badminton. Members have priority on courts. However, if there are any open courts, we welcome parents to play with their children. Currently, the best time for open courts is when we first open for that day and during Saturday afternoon. For safety of your children, please supervise them at all times. Also, talk to us about different programs for children - Membership Refund
Refund is at the discretion of NVBC and will be considered only for life changing events. Cancellation of annual membership will be calculated at the rate of monthly membership rates (for the months used) and the balance will be refunded. Cancellation is not available for monthly membership and passes . - Membership Freeze
Starting January, 2025 membership hold/freeze is not available.
